This page explains what cookies and similar storage mechanisms we use on blackthreadunion.com, why we use them, and how you can control them.

What we use

Strictly necessary

• Session — a signed cookie that keeps admin users logged in. Set only after an admin sign-in. No session cookie is set for normal visitors.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — used on the contact form to tell humans from bots without showing a CAPTCHA. Required to submit the form.
• Preference — your cookie choices themselves are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so we don’t ask again every visit.

These are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off. Under GDPR / ePrivacy, strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent.

Analytics (optional)

If enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-1WBLCYLJ7T) to understand which pages and releases people visit. GA4 sets _ga and _ga_* cookies, retains data for 2 months, and runs with IP anonymization and Google’s Consent Mode v2 — meaning nothing is recorded until you opt in here. It is off by default.

Marketing (optional)

We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies. This category is reserved for possible future embedded content (e.g. embedded video or social players) that may set their own cookies. Disabled by default.

Managing your choices

You can change your choices at any time by clicking Cookie preferences in the site footer. You can also clear this site’s storage in your browser to reset everything.
